As we grow ever closer to Christmas and the end of the holiday season, many of us will find ourselves attempting to enjoy the snow and the cold. One way I personally enjoy the cold and snow is by staying inside, but when that option is not available to me I always have a nice warm drink in my hand. It keeps me in high spirits when I’m forced to socialize and mingle in the outdoors.
I know quite a few people that will avoid their local Starbucks at all cost because they are afraid that anything they order will inherently be breaking the word of wisdom. I am here to allay your fears with a list of all the Millennial Mormon approved Starbucks drinks you can enjoy this holiday season.
Chestnut Praline Latte
Espresso, steamed milk, and flavors of caramelized chestnuts and spices. Topped with whipped cream and spiced praline crumbs. Order this yummy drink sans espresso.
Espresso, steamed milk, mocha sauce and peppermint flavored syrup. Topped with sweetened whipped cream and dark chocolate curls. Say “nah” to the espresso, and yes to extra dark chocolate curls. Not sure what the mocha sauce is, but I would substitute for chocolate. Just to be safe.
Caramel Brulée Latte
Espresso with steamed milk and caramel brulée flavored sauce. Topped with sweetened whipped cream and caramel brulée topping. I would do anything for anything with the word brulée in it— except drink espresso.
Espresso with steamed eggnog and milk, topped with ground nutmeg. Yeah, if you don’t get espresso in this, you are basically getting a hot eggnog. Enjoy!
Espresso with steamed milk and gingerbread flavored syrup. Topped with spice-infused whipped cream and real molasses drizzle. Take this to the gingerbread house ward activity and sip with sans espresso, with pride.
These are my favorite drinks during the holidays. I am the biggest fan of the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. One winter break, I think I bought five venti, and one treat (31 oz). The barista literally asked me if I was ok. Apparently getting a trenta hot chocolate breve style (with cream instead of milk) was a type of cry for help. No. I’m just super unhealthy, thanks. Anyway, obs these are WoW Kosher.
The rule of lattes is as follows: When you order them, substitute the word latte for steamer. This tells the barista you want to substitute the coffee with hot milk or cream. This is especially great come fall when the basic white girl inside you awakens and realizes the leaves are changing and everything you eat should contain pumpkin. I wasn’t sure I could order Pumpkin Spice Lattes because of the coffee. This year I tried it and BAM. They are awesome. Try it my friends. It’ll change your life.
Say yes. These can be sooo tasty, especially when you get them without coffee. Come summer time, I am ALL about these. Except when I’m watching my figure, then I’m less about these.
When I feel like being slightly healthier, I’ll try doing one of Starbucks many tea selections. This area gets a bit grey though. I only order herbal tea, and will avoid green tea and black tea. A good order for someone looking to be pensive on a cold day is a hot passion tea sweetened with raspberry. During the other half of the year, order an iced passion tea lemonade. I will get mine either half-sweetened or unsweetened. Either way, there are herbal tea options at Starbucks that you can enjoy.
Now that you know which Starbucks drinks are Millennial Mormon approved, get out there and order yourself a venti and let all your holiday dreams come true.
